Again, a little frustrated.
When I went to hop on my scale on Thursday for my usual "check-in" it wouldn't turn-on. The batteries had died :( And the particular watch battery it needs is sold out everywhere around here! So...until more batteries come in, I won't be able to weigh myself.
I know what some of you are thinking...
"Jaci, just find a different scale and use THAT one."
No.
I actually have a weird thing about always using the same scale. Even when I still went to meetings, I'd only use a certain scale at the center. I know, I know, it's weird, but I know that all sorts of people have "weigh-in day traditions".
For example, I do the same thing every Saturday before I WI: I get up, I pee as much as possible, poop if possible (hey, every little bit counts!), walk a little bit around the house, pee again (he he), strip and then hop on the scale. Then I weigh myself three times to make sure the reading is accurate. I don't know how this all started, but I've done it this way for a long time.
When I still went to meetings on Saturday mornings, I did the same thing but then got dressed and went to meetings (I liked to know what the difference between the WW scale and my home scale were - usually about a pound and I was clothed at meeting). Then I eat and drink my coffee and blog. This is has become my Saturday morning tradition.
When I started thinking about this, I worried I was being neurotic and obsessive and unhealthy, so I went to the WW community boards and trolled around...turns out most people have WI traditions of some sort and a lot also have pre- and post- work-out traditions.
Which...I figured out I had too. Pre-workout, I always drink some sort of caffeinated beverage. Why? Because the caffeine helps your HR get up into your optimal fat-burning zone faster, thus burning more calories (something my old trainer taught me). Also, for long runs, I always listen to Girl Talk (you can download his FREE album here - it's amazing, trust me). Post-workout, I always take a long, relaxing shower and massage my feet. And I usually eat a dill pickle (the salt helps prevent leg cramps).
So, do any of you have WI or work-out traditions? Please share! And I'll update my WI stats just as soon as I have a battery.

I do the same pee, walk around, pee, strip, weigh routine. Usually I wait until I am about to starve to death and then weigh myself. I've found waiting as long as possible equals a lower weight. In my mind, it's because if you weigh right after peeing your bladder hasn't shrunk back to it's normal size lol. Weird, I know. But it works!
