Remember me? I'm you, in your late 20s! All I can say is that I hope your 30s have been as great as I keep hearing. All this "the 30s are the new 20s" business is somehow making me excited to get older and I sincerely hope its not all a bunch of hype.
I'm writing today in order to list out my hopes for you:Miranda: “What ever happened to aging gracefully?”
Carrie: “It got old.”
I hope you have settled-down with someone you love, but that you didn't settle in the process.
I hope you are a mother of two or three children, G-d willing, and conceiving was easy for you.
I hope you have lots of crow's feet, because then you've been smiling.
I hope you have traveled to Europe and New Zealand and learned a language along the way.
I hope you still play and dance and sing and are silly.
I hope you are deeply involved in a faith of your choosing and raising your family to follow suite.
I hope you are still running, jumping, or doing whatever else you like to keep yourself active.
I hope you still love food and not allowing society dictate your appetite.
I hope you you are still a student and observer of life and that your humor continually develops.
I hope you are creative every day and that it not only makes you money, but also helps others.
I hope you live in a home full of love, light, laughter, and literacy.
I hope you are still honest yet loving, but have learned some professional tact.
I hope you don't swear like a sailor but can still get your point across.
I hope instead of feeling old, you realize you are just ripening and getting juicier.
I hope you learned to swim, so you're no longer scared of the deep end of the pool.
I hope Mom is well and she lives close to you and your family.
I hope you have changed, but only in ways of your choosing.
I hope the change doesn't scare you into going backwards.
But, most importantly...
I hope you are happy and living without regret.
Sending light and love from 2011,
Jax
