WLJ Weekend Update: 12.24.2011

First off, "Merry Whatever-Doesn't-Offend-You" to all my readers (seriously, when did saying Happy Holidays turn into a bad thing?).

Secondly, I lost this week. I have no freaking idea how since I didn't track like I said I would, and I didn't really exercise. But, I was a bit stressed and sometimes I starve my feelings when stressed...I know I didn't eat a whole lot this week, so this is probably the cause.

Anyways, today's weight: 140.6, down 1.8 pounds from last week. I'll take it and run, no sense looking a gift horse in the mouth.

I'm starting to look at 2012 - what healthy goals do I want to set for myself, where do I want to be by the time "The Big 3-0" hits. Here's what I've come up with: reach ultimate weight goal of 132 (so I'll be exactly in the middle of my healthy BMI range), run 1000 miles (or 19.25 miles a week), get my average mile under 10 minutes, and qualify for the 2013 New York Marathon. I've also decided to save-up my cash back perks from my bank to use on a shiny, new bicycle in the Spring. NYC has one of the best bike trail programs in the country, so why not use it?

Week ahead: this week will be cray cray. Hopefully (fingers and toes crossed), my mom will be getting her right knee replaced on Tuesday. I want it done with so I can move to New York knowing she's on the mend. Say some prayers (or whatever you do) for her white blood cells to be normal Monday, so we can proceed. Other goings on this week: my BFF from high school, Courtney, will be coming home to visit and I'm so excited I could pee myself. I've missed her!

Hmmm...what else? Oh, yeah, Christmas. Luckily, I'm not a huge Christmas food person, I'll eat dinner with the fam tomorrow, but otherwise Mom and I traditionally eat turkey chili and watch "Fiddler on the Roof" on Christmas (there's an inside joke here (it isn't offensive), ask me sometime).

I probably won't get much running in this week, mostly because the gym's hours are weird with the holidays, but I'll do my best.

Anyways, 'til next week... Have a Happy Festivus!
