Scale Independence: NSVs - Buying new clothes

I have a love/hate relationship with clothes shopping...I love to shop for and buy pretty new things, but I hate to spend money.  Especially right now when I'm trying to save for my move to NYC.

But, when I do set aside the money to go shopping, I very much enjoy the fact that I can now buy whatever I want.  I love that I don't have to shop at Lane Bryant and Torrid anymore and can just walk into a store and find something that fits me.

I also love the surprise I experience when I realize I'm smaller than I realized.  For example, I went shopping for jeans last weekend and was happily surprised that I could wear a size 7 juniors in skinny jeans (and I didn't have any muffin top or have to suck it in to button them!)  I knew I was in single digits in women, but knowing I was single digits in juniors was awesome!  I love knowing that, with the exceptions of my boobs (yeah, still an effing 34DDD - no Victoria's Secret for me), I'm pretty much a size 6 now (and sometimes a 4, but I'm not sure I trust that - lol)!

That was my goal the whole time.  I mean, I wanted to be healthy and stuff too, but knowing that I'm officially a "skinny bitch" feels pretty damn good too! I haven't felt like one of those in years!

Now, I just need more money so I can restock my wardrobe.  Think I could convince Obama that a stimulus given to people who lose a large amount a weight would be a good incentive to be healthy?  Thoughts?

  1. I think that'd be an awesome incentive!! Write in to Barry and suggest it :)

I hate shopping right now. Especially jeans shopping. I dread trying them on. Hoping I'll love it as much as you do in a few months.
