WLJ Weekend Update: 5.21.11

I told y'all about my new job on Wednesday, but I didn't tell you that it's exhausting me.  I like what I'm doing and the people are nice, but I'm not used to such physically demanding work. 

Okay, it's not hard labor or anything, but after five years of office work, standing and walking for two to three hours without a break can be tiring.  And, the walking makes me ravished.  By the time I get to lunch I want to eat everything.  EVERYTHING.

And...this week I did.

And...I haven't ran since Sunday night.

So, yeah, I'm still adjusting.  I know I'll eventually figure it out, but this week, I haven't. 

Which caused a gain of .8 pounds.  It's frustrating when I'm thisclose to goal, but it is what it is so I just have to give myself a break and move forward.  So...moving forward...how do you do that?

First off, you get over the fact you messed up in the past.  It can't be undone, so don't even try. 

Next, you forgive yourself and acknowledge that being human is part of the process.

Last, you make a plan to move forward with, or at least create goals.  So, here are my goals/my plan for the upcoming week:
  • Run at least 4 times this week.  Even if it's just for 20 minutes.  I just have to get to the gym.  
  • Go to the pool with Mom twice, so she can get some exercise too.
  • Stay within my points (duh) and start taking most of my lunches to work so I'm not tempted to eat out every day.
  • Reconnect with my hunger pangs - make sure I eat only when I'm truly hungry instead of some external signal (i.e. 15 minute breaks).
So...there it is, I'll let y'all know how I'm doing mid-week.  Oh, and stay tuned on Monday for the announcement of my other blogging projects!
