How do you like the play on the ol' SNL skit? Clever, no? For those who don't know this, WLJ stands for Weight Loss Journey in Weight Watchers.
***11 Days to NYC***
I didn’t weigh-in last Saturday since I’d been sick the week before. I knew I’d probably be up a bit and didn’t want to make myself upset, so I opted to take a “weigh-in pass” (as WWers affectionately call them) so I would focus on getting well instead of my weight. As soon as I started feeling better on Monday, I got back on the program. I ran over 17 miles this week and tried a new workout called pool running.
Pool running is exactly what it sounds like: you run in a pool (with a flotation devise around your middle to keep yourself from sinking). It’s fun and you get some added benefits you don’t get from regular running: core, arm, and shoulder strengthening and increased mobility and flexibility. It’s considered one the best cross training exercises for runners (marathoners and Olympic athletes do it) and you get the same calorie burn as a regular run! I think I’m going to start doing it a couple of times a week as a way to keep my endurance up while giving my poor joints a break (side note: I got whistled at while at the pool – that never happens to me!) I don’t know how to count the pool running distance-wise, so I’m not going to count it in my weekly mileage.
So…the moment you’ve all been waiting for…
This morning at weigh-in, I lost another 3.6 pounds, which brings my grand total weight loss to 70.6 pounds.
Go me!!
Yippee!!!! Way to go, lady!
